Doug, apparently I have egg on my face. I did not realize that. From what I can tell it is one and the same. Would take a call to the local IH dealer to confirm
I haven't been a fan of the 6.0 or the 6.4. They had that problem on with the flames on the F-350, I could be wrong but I think the emission standards change when you get to the 450.
Stop in at your local IH dealer. sit down with a salesman and Tell them what you need.
I wouldn't be afraid of a used fleet owned truck in the 30,000 to 50,000 mile range.
All right I just got off the phone with Cerni Motors here in Youngstown. The 6.4 in the ford and the IH are the same base engine. The gentleman I talked to claims the problem starts when ford gets it and starts changing things for their application.
Call them up and talk to Rich Simerlink. I talked to another guy in sales but he said if you called to talk to Rich he has been with Cerni for 30 years
