HF I.R. heater OK for shop?

Radiant heaters powered by gas of some sort are used all the time by airlines to warm up a 'zone' where a crew is working on an aircraft in a hangar or on a ramp. Big areas are no problem.

Such equipment might be a little beyond the scope products sold at ---say --- Grainger or McMann-Masters. I looked into myself during construction of my house and shop. However, I just went for an electric heater (220v) because the need for btu's was small.

If you've got natural gas, do yourself a favor and avoid propane. Way too expensive. Because I live in a mountain town, my household fireplace and kitchen stove run on propane. It isn't much fun.
