After taking a Basic Woodturning course at Craft Supplies a few years ago, I sat around and did no turning for a while. (Recovering, I guess.) I finally decided that I wanted to try turning another box, but I didn't want to "waste" good wood or a lot of it. So I cut a piece from a 2x2 that I had salvaged from the demolition of some built-in cubicles in the office building next to mine, and did my durndest:
I was pretty proud of myself ... but I sure wish I had chosen a piece with no nail and screw holes in it ....
