    Very Strange

    I contacted Rikon a week ago about the tires on my little benchtop BS dry rotting. See; http://familywoodworking.org/forums/...ead.php?t=6585
    After a little debate the Rikon rep agreed to send me new tires at no charge. UPS just dropped them off and when I opened the package Rikon didn’t send just tires but both wheels and bearings to! That sure doesn’t seem like an efficient way to do business.

    My guess is the rep doesn't know the difference between tires and wheels. Glad to see they got you taken care of, though. You could always send the extra wheels to Stu and he can make you another bandsaw.

    My experience with Rikon service has been favorable. I'd just accept the additional items as an effort by them to insure that you are satisfied with their service.

    Hey you guys missed the point. These guys just got great free advertising.

    Maybe they gave the wrong part but maybe not.

    I only asked for new tires. No way did I think they would send tires and wheels.

    My original post was not a complaint. I am very happy with the way Rikon took care of me. I was only questioning the practicality of stocking wheel/tire assemblies as a single replacement. Maybe in the grand scheme of things it makes perfect sense.

    Maybe you're supposed to change the wheels when you get new tires.

    Bruce,
    Interesting...I've just been forced to do this in my world. I can't afford to keep parts...they take up more space than "wholes". It's beginning to be a save nickle...spend a dime.
