    Project from 2004

Was visiting over on woodcentral and found this in the shop shots section:

That is a box I made for a charity auction to benefit cancer research. Walnut ends with red oak. Watco finish. The ends were cut on the bandsaw, and the center section was cut out with a dado stack iirc.

Very nice Ned, I expect it was well received too!

I like it, It would make a nice little jelwery box. What did you use to hinge it?

iirc I used a simple oak dowel, drilled in from the sides and glued in the dowel on the end pieces only, then sanded them flush before finishing.

This was my first attempt at what was then called a 'knipfer box' over on the WWA.

That's a cool-looking box, Ned. I'll bet you're looking forward to when you have the shop done so you can start posting more "project" shots instead of "shop" shots.
