Old chair styles

Years ago, someone sent me a floppy disk with these pictures of old style chairs. Kinda interesting. Some we all have seen, others unique. FWIW, thought I would share. There is a text explanation that goes with them, hope it takes as an attachment. If not, I'll copy and paste as a follow-up post.

Frank, this is interesting stuff, old chairs, you don't see this kind of old chairs so often anymore.
The first picture (cane.jpg) remind me to the time I was a very young boy, and HAD to go each morning to the church for the early mass.
The whole church was filled with the same chairs, than you sit with your knees on the seat of the hair.
Boys in the left part, girls in the right part, and the adults in the mid part of the church. And don't had the guts to make any noise, else it was not your best day.
