I'm looking for a good pore filler?

I'm making a mahogany top for a cabinet and I'm looking for a good pore filler as the wood I have is rather pourous. any suggestions?

The way it is done on boats is to use a filler stain. It's an oil based, oily paste that is rubbed into the pours. Then you rub down the wood with cheese cloth to remove the extra and level it.

You could find it through some online marine suppliers I am sure. But your going to be limited in color so this may not be what you looking for. It may be that is can be tinted, the few times I used it I just used it as is.
