    Watco Danish Oil

Anyone use Watco Danish oil and not use a protective poly on top of it? The can it comes in says you don't have to but you can if you want, just have to wait 72 hours to apply the top coat. Just seeing if anyone uses it by itself and if they had any problems. Thanks

I've used it lots. Holds up well on surfaces not subject to wet. I just about always top it off with paste wax. I usually put on at least 3-4 coats of oil, sometimes more. For durability though, poly holds up better.
If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate.

Thanks for that valuable input Ken!

It works great for things like shelfs and stuff that some use. It is easy to fix if it is scraped., but if there is any chance that someone will place drinks on it then put on a couple coats of poly.
