Confetti Lamps

A couple confetti lamps I turned this weekend for Christmas gifts. First is a piece of cherry I bought on e-bay about 8 years ago that's been sitting in the shop. Has some gorgeous figure and some inclusions. I tried my new Sorby easy beader LOML bought me as an early Christmas gift. All in all I am pleased with it. Sorry but my lack of photography skills does not do the piece justice.

Second is a cocobolo block I got at Woodcraft a few months ago. I like working the cocobolo, works easy, sands to a fine glossy finish, and finishes nicely.

Both are finished with one coat of pure tongue oil, then the three step Beall Buff process.

Very nicely done, Tony. I'll bet they are (or were) very well received. Cherry burl and cocobolo are two of my favorites. I have a few kits, but didn't get around to turning any confetti lamps this year.
