Hold-down clamps

There are many methods to make hold down clamps including the "you can buy at...www....." method...

This is my version

Thanks Niki, I believe those hold downs are easily adaptable to a bench with bench dog holes in them too. :thumb:

Thanks, I think I know what I'll be making this weekend.
One of my workbenches has a fairly thin top and no overhang on the edges. These hold downs should be perfect for that one.

great money saving idea

As a retired toolmaker I love all kinds of simple ideas.
As a piece of advice to anyone clamoing in this fasion,
please always use thicker tail piece on your clamps.
In other words make sure that the part of the clamp
that comes into contact with the piece you are holdind
down is contacting it with the forward most part.
