My version. ;)

I thought the one in WOOD magazine looked top heavy so I turned more of an hourglass shape to add width to the base.

Dogwood with Walnut top finished with Mylands and buffed.

Cool! I've been wondering when the original WOOD Magazine shape might "morph"....

No photo of the bottom of the cup; did you drill the hole all the way through? Just curious.

EDIT: Does anybody plan to design (or use) one of these for matches?

Not this time, lol. The bottom is about 1/4" thick and it just has a simple convex shape.
