Very neat spiral top etc. Question on the dimensions... Diameter, height, etc. Thanks for the posting and pictures.

its 5 1/2 tall by 1 3/4 wide and the lid alone is about 3 1/2 tall. inches that is. well it is carved... in a cheating type way. I used my dremel with a sanding drum attachment. Didnt take too long once I started doing it that way... I was fiddling around with filing it by hand and experimenting with other dremel attachments so its hard to say how long it took...

thanks :D

Wow, you did the finial by hand? I was guessing you used a router and a jig (and a dozen or so blown-up attempts). Very nice work, Ben.

Awesome Ben !

Great box, but the barley twist really puts it over the top ! I like the photoshop enhanced pic a lot better than the others. Your Dad had said your turning has progressed a lot but I think he underestimated.:thumb:

Great Ben, a carved finial wow, what a patient.
Had first the idea it was turned with using a spiral technic. :thumb:
