    Length of threaded end of a spindle.

    Hi you guys,
    I already asked about the size of the thread and it looks like 1 x 8 tpi or 1 1/4 x 8tpi would be a good size nfor most accesories. Now how long should the thread have from the tip of the spindle? Thank you.

    Minimum the size of the diameter Alfredo.

    Alfredo...I found another site that shows a homemade lathe copied from a one-way...looks like if you have a friend at a fabrication shop could be done pretty cheap?? Check it out.....

    Alfredo, it's not only the thread diameter you need to consider if you want to fit standard chucks and accessories to the spindle, the rear register and the spacing of the collar from the rear of the thread need to match one of the standards.
