Finished this up and delivered it on Saturday.

Ended up having to partially disassemble it to get it into the nursery, and since they've got some folks coming over to do some decorating stuff during Spring Break I left it disassembled and will put it back together once the decorating stuff is done.

Yeah, I had discussed different options for accessing the baby and they chose the sliding gate. Used a locking latch for double hung windows to secure it in the closed position. That UHMW plastic tape makes for easy sliding.

A very special and meaningful item for the parents. I'm sure it will give them a sense of independence they would not be able to experience otherwise. What did you decide about the high center of gravity issue?

After I got it all put together, it took quite some effort to tip it intentionally. They parents do want me to anchor it to the wall, though, and I'm glad to do that. It is made from pecan/hickory and weighs a ton.
