Bowl #12

Looks real nice to me, John. Your shaking story reminds me of a fellow I met a couple years ago.

Hillard is a WWII vet in his 80s, and he turns some very impressive segmented pieces. One vase he has at his house is about 18" in diameter and somewhere around 3 1/2 feet tall, with tens of thousands of pieces. Hillard has Parkinson's disease, and he shakes quite a bit...except when he's at the lathe. It's almost as if there was a switch that turns off the shaking when he grabs a chisel. He told me the shakes aren't too bad most of the time when he's turning, and if they are moving sided to side, it's OK. But when the shakes go forward and back (said while he's thrusting his arm as if holding a sword), it can cause problems. ;)

Looks great, so does the quilt (My Mum is a quilter) :D

The Keyaki that I have a love/hate relationship with, is in the Elm family, when dry, it can be like turning concrete

Cheers!
