While it is going to be awhile before I actually buy them, I'd like to research the purchase of two new wheels to go on my bench grinder. I don't even know that I will need them right off the bat, but let's presume I will. What two wheels should I be shopping for?

Ned,

I also have the Norton SG 80 grit wheel from CSUSA. That is the Rolls Royce of grinding wheel for HSS. I am extremely happy with it except the price. The Norton 3X 46 grit is very close in performance at one third the price. I have never tried the 46 grit SG wheel or the 80 grit 3X; so the comparison may not be too useful. I won't hesitate to give 3X 80 grit a trial in the future.

Thanks Gordon,
Of course your thread triggered my post, but I didn't want to Hijack your thread. I"ll take a look at them, thanks! I'm Just starting out in turning, and someday when my shop is completed, I'll be putting my new midi and a free grinder I got awhile back to use in one corner of my small shop.
