Well since you guys responded so quickly to my other question thought I would throw this out there. I am looking to make a few pens, and like I said I dont wanna spend a fortune. I know I need a mandrel, any suggestions on which one to get, ill probably start off making some slimline pens at first. And as for everything else I need can you guys point me in the right direction in terms of what I "need" to get started. Want to turn a few and see if it is really worth it to me. Thanks,
Mike

The PSI DVD is an OK helper for a beginner. PSI pen kits are, IMHO, good beginner kits. But, soon, you may want to move up in quality. I suggest getting the Craft Supply catalog, called The Wood Turners Catalog, and use their kits. As for mandrel, start with the professional adjustable. A bit more money but well worth the expense right off the bat.
