Rennie beat me to it -- I was going to add the brass set up bars. I find them quite useful.
I also agree with Glenn, many times cutting to "fit" is more important then cutting for accuracy.
Last thing that I didn't see mentioned here, is try to "gang" cut when whenever possible. By this I mean, do all the similar cuts at one time. Another example of this is using a stop block to eliminate the need to make same measurement over and over again.
