Build Your Own Compressor? Need a Tank?

Wow,that would work good for me.

I was talking to a guy that installs windmills, but here is the thing, he uses them to power an air compressor. He claims that is a better use for them. Here on this hill I could use a windmill like that as well, but with a huge storage capacity. I doubt that old railroad car could withstand 150psi of air pressure though...it would likely blow up at 25 pounds at that capacity :) :) :)
 
The tag on the tank (second pic) claims 100psi, but it sure would be ugly seeing something that size go kaboom.
 
The compressors we serviced on the railroad were not all that big, about the size of a dog house. They did not turn very many rpm's, but the 2 stage system pumped up a train in pretty short order.
