This is yet even more maple I got from Robert Mickley (the last piece). :( This one has is all: curly, spalted, ambrosia maple. It's about 14" wide x 3 1/2" tall with extra thick walls. This one is just Antique Oil...no lacquer, buffed.

That sure is some amazing wood and you really made the most out of each piece! Very nice work Vaughn - beautiful flowing form, great markings and I really like the soft finish! Hope you are able to find some more of this wood real soon! Thanks for posting!
 
Outstanding! Beautiful wood. I think the thickness is right-on for the scale of the piece. I'm kicking myself for not getting some of the blanks Robert offered:doh: Barry

Vaughn, you have certainly done that piece of wood justice, the choice of oil finish has brought out the depth of the grain features and displays them without the clutter of light glints and reflections.
