Plain Maple Bowl

This was turned from one of my few remaining pieces of last year’s maple score. Fairly plain but with a few birdseye scattered throughout just for effect!

Maple bowl, 10” diameter x 4 ½” high, rim is 5/16” and the walls taper down to 3/16”, sanded to 400 grit, multiple coats of Minwax Wipe-On Gloss Poly. Will buff it in a few weeks after poly has time to fully cure.

Very nice Steve!!

I really like these so-called "plain and simple" bowls where the beauty of the wood has a chance to shine. I like the wood.

cheers

Yeah , Steve is back again to show us another master piece.
Very beautiful bowl Steve, and a pretty big one.

Very Nice.. I like the simple bowls too.. this is a beauty.

I have a few logs of maple that has been "seasoning" in my back yard for a year or so... some of it will be nicely spalted. Need to get out the chain saw and make up some bowl blanks and get busy ..
