    Hearing/eye protection

I am trying to find an earmuff-type hearing protector with flip-down eye guard. I saw one on a woodworking video recently, but unfortunately can't recall the source. If anyone knows where I can find this item, I'd appreciate a response. Thanks, Tony

I say the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

Hi Tony, maybe you are talking about the Triton Powered Respirator?

    Cheers!

Check at a store that sells chainsaws. They will have exactly what you are looking for.

Nothing that complicated. The one I saw looked like earmuffs with a goggle-size flipdown eye shield. That Triton looks like something you would use working in your shop while the building was on fire!

Thanks, Frank; I'll try that. Tony

    Something like this ........

    http://www.envirosafetyproducts.com/...-Defender.html

I've seen them where chainsaws are sold. I've dealt with Enviro Safety, they are A1 to deal with.

Thanks, Tony. I think I have identified the item, but apparently it is no longer sold. It was called Optimuff, and I think it was a Pelton product. I might try the full face shield type that Enviro Safety sells, but I wonder if I'll be comfortable with that much hardware.

    Tony.

A quick google search gives plenty of vendors selling a Howard Leight Optimuff that looks like what you are describing. Might be a change of ownership of the product. Just search for Optimuff.

    Good luck!

I tried googling Optimuff, and found a number of listings, but so far every one indicates that the Optimuff is discontinued and unavailable. Oh, well . . .
