    Walnut Salad Bowls

I haven't been able to turn much lately while recovering from shoulder surgery... finally starting to get back into it a little with a couple of bowls. Nothing special, just tryin' to get back in the game...

I dunno Mark...from the pics it looks like you might have lost the touch. I think to be sure, you should send the bowls to me for closer examination.

Looks like the wing's healing pretty well, Mark. I especially like the bigger bowl in the last pic. That thin strip of yellow in the heartwood looks very cool.

Mark, don't send it to Vaughn for a closer look, you never get it back .
But honestly, what I see on my screen, looks very nice.

Do you have a coring tool? A 15" bowl is a lot of work. Your bowls are awesome. The grain is very colorful. I can't decide which one I like the best. Glad you are recouperating.

Hey Terry... no coring tool here... sometimes I've wished I had one, but with a yard full of Walnut that needs to be turned, I can stand to make a few shavings...

Beautiful bowls, Mark. It doesn't look like you ever took a break. The craftsmanship on those is wonderful.

    Wonderful pics, too.

Mark those are beauties. Doesn't look like you lost a step. I love the first one with the sap wood.

Love the sap wood in them

Glad you hear you are back at it, sucks to be off the spinny stuff for too long....

Nothing to ad to what has been said, I also like very much the combination of sap wood and core wood
    Best regards,

Mark - beautiful work on both bowls! Really like the contrasting colors in the first one!

Hope everything is healing quickly for you!
