    I think it is Black Oak

    I made a couple of salad bowls for a retirement and my nephew's wedding.

    The first is 11 x 6 and the second is 12 x 4.

    Both finished with Mike Mahoney's walnut oil.

    Pete, both are great looking bowls. I like the raised rim on the second one.
