Sweetgum/Mesquite Vase

This one is a bit lacking form-wise but I'm happy to salvage anything at all from it.

This was a save after a disaster when the opening broke out while hollowing and the tenon broke out while re-chucking. I added a Mesquite collar and pedestal to the Sweetgum funnel!

It's 8 1/2" x 5" finished with my witch's brew and spray Shellac.

BTW, I go back offshore soon for fourteen days ahd y'all get a break from my turning displays. :D

Nice save Cody! Sure is some pretty wood! Not sure about everyone else but I look forward to seeing what you turn next! You are progressing really fast! Hope the off-shore gig goes smoothly!
 
Nice save, Cody. I'd admit it might not be the best piece you've ever turned, but especially considering all the trials and tribulations, it came out pretty nice. :clap:
