This started out to be a bark edge bowl but the bark was too loose to stay attached so I peeled it off and turned it as a plain NE.

But, it was so plain that I decided to enhance the edge a bit. So I burned lines about 1/8" apart all the way around the rim. I like it and it's led to another idea for a bowl. This stuff is really fun!

It's Sweetgum, 10 3/8" x 9 1/8" x 4 1/8" and again finished with witch's brew and Beall buffed.

Clever idea on the rim Cody, Looks like stitching. Was that the intention? Pete

The intention was only to do something to dress up the rim and the tip I had in the burner was perfect for making the lines you see.

After I completed it, I also thought it looked like stitching which led to another idea. I've done a prototype and I'll post either a picture of it or perhaps do a better one before showing. It's got me excited about the possibilities. :)

To everyone else, thanks for all the comments. You guys are great.
