Adding a poll

Can someone explain to me how to add a poll to a post? Can you write some stuff *and* include the poll or is the poll a separate post? thanks all,

Create a thread then before submitting it scroll down and there is a box to check regard making a poll. Check the box and select the number of options in the poll. The click submit. The rest will happen for you.
