Box Swap Time!!! BOXES ARE ON THE WAY!!!

My box is ready for finishing,

But the temperature in the garage is not conducive to spraying lacquer. I tried 2 coats in the basement shop this morning with the windows open and the fan directing the fumes outside, but had to shut that operation down, or face the wrath of Lucy!

So all of the above serves as a warning to my swap buddy (I know who you are) unless we get a warm early spring, your box may/will be a little later than the end of March. There could be something extra included to make the wait worth your while! :D

Have you ever tried to sand OSB:doh::doh::doh::doh:

Yeah, but I used a sand blaster. Is that cheating?

Figgers that one of the few things I'll get done with ahead of schedule can't be sent till March EOM. That's OK, I gotta look around for a 2011 penny to date stamp it with anyway ;-)

Geez - I need to keep on top of these things. My box is pretty far along and now I have to sit on it for a MONTH!

That's like 3 + weeks of procrastinating I could have done . . . :rofl:

Of course I could build another. . . . I need to dig thru the wood stash and see what other wood I've got to inspire me . . . . :thumb:

Cheers

This weekend is the big weekend for box building for me:) I have 2 new techniques that I have never done on a finished piece, only practice so far. Hope they work:p I think I am going to need the entire time to finish:p:) How is everyone else, coming along nicely???

I'm still having trouble finding just the right piece of OSB. On the bright side I did straighten a coffee can full of 16p nails for the build:thumb:

well i liked the sounds of bill satko's bees wax finish but ti have to wait till its warmer to get the wax the bees arent flying around much right now and so i cant find there hive to get some wax..

Box is coming along.

I'm having trouble with dovetailing the cardboard I laminated together. The corners keep bending over when I try to fit the pieces together.
Also I have to remake a new laminated cardboard top. Turns out when I laminated the 4 pieces of cardboard together to get the desired thickness I wanted I left an old shipping label sticking up. :(

By the way, Does anybody know the best way to finish cardboard? I was thinking a nice walnut stain and some wipe on poly or something...

:rofl::rofl::rofl:
