2011 Toy Swap

Well my toy swap is finally in the mail. Should arrive around Thu. Sorry to all of you who have already posted...I'm going to blow you all away with my entry :rofl::rofl:

You're right Sharon ... count me "blown away"!

I headed for southern Utah early on Wed, July 27 for a 3+ day youth conference. My wife said your package arrived the next day, as you predicted. I opened the package on Saturday afternoon, but after miles of hiking and biking and 3 nights in a tent I was in no shape to do much of anything ... but take a nap.

I was busy all day Sunday too, but finally took advantage of the overcast evening sky to grab a few "in situ" pics of your impressive piece of wooden machinery:

Thanks for a very cool (and well made :thumb:) toy!

Sharon, that is way cool. That's more than "OK", especially for a first try. I like the way you did the cab and hood, and the dumping bed is a great touch. Keep this up, and you'll be building that dining room table yourself. :D

Love it Sharon !:thumb: Working dump box and tailgate-awesome. I might also have to copy this if you don't mind. Great job. Now I wish I had gotten into this swap too. Definitely next time.

Thanks everyone. It was fun to use power tools. In the olden days, I only had hand tools to build stuff (hammer, saw, hand cranked drill, etc.). Of course I had a great mentor who's only goal was not having to explain to the group how I lost fingers or broke my hands.

Yes cherry and maple. Brent donated one of his reject cutting boards for the cab and hood.

Oh, and I got my toy from Jonathan today. Pictures to follow soon (teaser...good thing Brent was wearing glasses, or I might have put his eye out :rofl::rofl:) :thumb::thumb:

Okay, you found the ammo and knew how to use it???!!!:thumb::thumb:
Uhm, that is why there is a pair, so you best put on some glasses also!!!
Hope you like them and have fun, that is what they are for. :thumb::thumb:

While Jonathan may not be top notch in wrapping up packages...he's top notch in woodworking (remind me to buy stock in Duck Tape)

At first, I couldn't figure out why he sent me a few shirts (or maybe they were meant for Brent):rofl:

But low and behold he made two Marshmallow guns for Brent and I to have war games with

Here's me putting Brent's eye out

Thank you so much Jonathan...great job for great fun :thumb::thumb::thumb:
Side note, I was oddly able to walk up on three cottontail rabbits (within 10') and they didn't run. They were all busy munching on marshmallows and just enjoying themselves :rofl:

It's not over yet boys Lady and Gentlemen, still a couple of recipients left to report in... :thumb:
