I typically wear the nitrile gloves when mudding, so I got some pics of the carnage that ensued. I hung some plastic up in the doorway and ran a space heater, tee-shirt under the sweat shirt got soaked, so should be warm in the office when I need a break. Also with that kind of heat, I should be able to get a couple of more coats on tomorrow to get it done.

Looks like you're coming along well, Darren. Seeing your work on the office reminds me that LOML has wanted me to enclose an area of my shop to use for an office. She thinks the computer, monitor, printer and TV set would last longer if it were protected from the shop dust! Imagine that!!! :dunno:

That's the second worse job in the world. Sanding it is the first:eek:
Amen to that!

If you got the room, I'm really liking the extra wall space to have to organize things around.

darren i think you have played in the mud before:) lookun good..

I'm always a little rusty when I start. I spent 6 years of doing it professionally (many more on houses with my dad), still isn't any fun, but you learn what makes it easier. ;)

Well, with all the rain we had yesterday, things were humid in the shop. With the heat running all day out there I've still got a couple of wet spots from the first coat, so no mudding got done today.:(

I did however get the rest of the insulation on the upper walls in and osb up closing off the rest of that area, so the day wasn't a total loss. Also got some electrical started on the next section and started on re-wiring the lighting.

Here's the upper walls finished the second is the storage above the office. I had some fore thought to put a plug up there just in case.

OK, it's 26 degrees out, heated office or not, I'm taking the night off. :) Did go out and clear a spot for the truck and put it in the shop, in case we get that 30% chance of snow.

Looking real good. I am slowly coming to realize i should have been a carpenter:)
I get real excited with new builds.:)

But that drywalling ....well i learnt the real hard way thats a job best to pay pros to do....unless you already a pro;)

I cannot decide which is worse...painting or drywalling :)

I'd take painting over the drywall any day. I've got a couple of those wagner paint sticks that you suck the paint into the handle and pull the trigger to pump it into the roller, best $25 you could ever spend. Rollers are a little more, but not much and clean-up isn't that bad.

First time I painted my kitchen with a pan and roller it took an hour and a half. Used one of those the second time a few years later, had it done in a half hour. Amazing how much time you spend dipping that roller in the pan.

Seeing all of Carol's hard work made me tired. That and it's been a long week and I know I'm not taking the weekend off, so I did it tonight. I just sat on my rear in the new office, admiring my handy work and do some planning while enjoying some barley pop. ;)

Ain't it great when we can claim to be "planning" when we know we're just being lazy??? :whistling:

(I'm not so sure LOML buys it when I make that claim!)
