As to Cannons well i am just totally amazed dept of HS has not put an end to people being able to purchase them.
You do not buy a function gun. so it is not looked upon as a weapon until you drill the touch hole.

Chuck can you actually fire anything out of that barrel or is it just used to make a noise with a little black powder.
Anything that will fit down the barrel can be shot out of it.

If so where does one have to go to fire the thing. I am presuming no neighborhood is going to allow a "9 o clock and all is clear" kind of shot once a day
Me I go out in my front yard. I mean really who's going to complain about the guy with the cannon across the street.
What sort of price did this cannon barrel go for?
This one was in the 400 range

you cant fire a projectile in it at home can you?? just touch off powder charge? the range on one of those must be a long ways off..

I reread village code 5 times, and it says nothing about discharging a cannon towards my neighbors house.

We usta take candles and shave off some wax and use it on top of the wadding to help pack the charge and provide a nice seal.It would give ya more BANG..... :thumb:

Last week there was a news story about some guy who was upset with his employer and threatened to shoot the place up theatre-style. When he was arrested and his house searched, the authorities found over 400 rounds of ammo. I know a lot of folks who saw that "400" figure and thought "400? Is that all? That's half an afternoon at the range with the family."

Depending on the count it's only 8 boxes. How ever I just went out to dispatch a mangy looking fox to find that I am out of 22 and only have one box of 30-30 The fox lived to see another day for he was in a direction that it was not safe to use a 30-30 for his demise.

Well i was not just refering to the pirate from New Hampshire, i was thinking of all of ya on this forum but the little bit of chatter has let me in to know that i feel sorry for any country that dares to get the idea that they could invade the USA. :rofl:

Well Larry forget the woodworking demos if i make it to Michigan next month i gotta get a demo in bow shooting. But with my feeble office boy muscles you gonna have to set the bow for kiddies.

I gotta tell you guys i really dont think the rest of the world has a clue about even beginning to understand the USA and Americans. The more insight i get the more i find i need to know and understand.

Where others seems to have left their history behind, you guys have it right along side. You sure aint a boring folk.

I think if more took time to get to know you there would be a whole different picture out there about you. But i guess thats the case for just about any country and people.
