Beam Compass

It's time to see some woodworking on here!! Posting some things I have done fairly recently just to try to liven up the joint!

Ever need to draw a big circle? I am a woodworker, so why should I have to pay for some as simple as a beam compass? I shouldn't, so I decided to just make one.


Only thing I would do different is wedges. I made the angle a little too steep. They don't lock as well as I would like but it easy enough to make new ones. It works well and it was made from scraps. It's didn't cost me a dime!

Good job on a handy tool Jeff! I have to agree, it's been pretty dead on the forum. I think it's just too darn hot to do much if you don't have A/C!

Agreed on both points. Cool compass, and I think the heat has slowed a lot of things down.

Hey I really like that, incorporate the shop pencil I make on the lathe for the one end and it would be great. Thanks for the idea.

Call the cops. I'm stealing that idea! Nicely done!
