Tough Cops in Belarus

It looks like he hopped right up and continued a phone conversation!

"Sorry about that sarge; I just got tossed from the van. Huh? Oh - civilian came out of nowhere and Denny had to swerve.

You were saying...?"

Stu said it, he almost got crushed under the van, however, I think that he wasn't wearing the safety belt was he? Otherwise it would have been difficult to be expeled like that.Dunno:dunno::dunno:

At least locally, officers are excluded from the seat belt requirement. Generally a lot of them drive without them, until they start into a pursuit.

As for that guy, he isn't so tough. He is just worried about the paperwork saying he was injured on the job.

The reasoning I've heard for police officers not wearing seat belts is to allow them to get out of the vehicle quickly in the event of a foot pursuit. Personally, I think I'd rather wear the belt and lose a second or two if I had to bail out and chase a bad guy.
