Italy-Sicily Roundtrip

Came saturday night back home from a 17 days roundtrip through Italy and Sicily. We traveled with a group of 31 people in a coach, first from Holland to Southern Germany were we stay the night over, and the next day to Lido di Jesolo in Italy, close to Venice. We visit the next day Venice, and moved the next day to Montecatini, were we stay in a hotel for three days. From off Montecatini we brought a visit to Pisa, Lucca and Florence.
The next stay was in a hotel in Chianciano, for a visit to San Gimignano, a very old small town, really beautiful, with a breathtaking view over the Toscane landscape. We continue our travel with a visit to Perugia, Assisi and Rome, after checking in in a hotel in the neighborhood of Rome. After a visit to Pompeii and staying the night over in Sorrento, up to Sicily. Was never before on Sicily, well Sicily is surprisingly beautiful, with a very beautiful landscape. On Sicily we brought a visit to Messina, Catania, Syracuse, and the vulcano the Etna. It was not allowed to climb to the 3000 meter high top of the vulcano, to dangerous. This vulcano is still smoking. So we had to do it with a visit to a couple of old craters on 2500 meter. Very impressive to see the trails of irruptions. A pity was to see all the restaurants and souvenirs, so it's pretty commercial.
Than we left Sicily by a big ferry to Genua in the North of Italy, and via Switserland back home.
Every morning early up at 06.00, and late back in our hotel, so this kind of roundtrips are pretty tiring, but more than worthy.
A few pictures for you to show how it looks like.
Anyway it was a blast, and we had a very nice group of people, the chianti and beer was very good, as well as the Italian coffee and pasta.
Cheers.

Looks like a great trip, Ad. :thumb:

Nice photo's. First photo in your 3rd post brings to mind the saying my family has in Canada when we see other Dutch people. "Echte Nederlanders". (typical Dutch people.) We can always pick fellow Nederlanders out of a crowd. Glad you had a good trip.

Thanks Vaughn, sorry, I did it in a rush, I'm to busy with organizing pictures for sending them to corresponding friends, takes me a lot of time.
