A little practice turning

Trying to get the hang of turning again.
Wanted to get an idea of the limitations of my existing set up as well as a feel for the tools again. Figured I would start with a simple form. Haven't done it in years except for a few pieces that I used a duplicator to cut.
Still have a ways to go.....

I turned this from a piece of 1-1/4" thick cherry I had left over from the kitchen remodel. It is about 9-1/2" wide. Paste wax finish, wire burnt ring and sanded to 320.
CC more than welcome:D

From here, it looks like you still remember how to turn, Rich. :thumb: The beaded detail at the rim is not easy to do, and you pulled it off nicely. Now we just need to get some thicker material in your hands so you can try some deeper pieces. ;)

Well if that is what happens after you lay off for a while, think I'll lock the shop for the next two years!!!!:doh::doh:
That is very neat, very functional and I am in awe. What kind of chucks did you use to turn this item???
