Many of us believe here at Family Woodworking that acronyms can often be confusing, and would prefer not to use too many of them, since it is the intent of this forum to share woodworking information, and the more clearly that information is stated, the better for all the members. (Especially the newcomers and the folks around the world who don’t speak as much English as the rest of us.) Nonetheless, it’s inevitable that acronyms will be used here at Family Woodworking.
It has been suggested that we post a list of acronyms, in order to help people figure out what others are saying. This list will be edited and will grow over time, and if you have any additions to suggest, please send them to one of the forum Moderators or Administrators in a private message. Keep in mind we’re not trying to define every cute acronym out there…we’re mainly interested in those that get used in the woodworking world, or are used a lot in the Family Woodworking forums (and those that conform to the Forum Rules and Code of Conduct). For general acronym help, you can use a site like www.acronymfinder.com.
