Well things changed and I ended up plowing last night. One of my neighbors got stuck coming up our shared road. A.K.A the luge run. She was coming home from work pulling a trailer with her 2 snowmobiles on it. She must not of maintained her speed coming up one of the steeper parts, slowed to a stop and then could not get going again. Three of us neighbors operate a text string where we declare if we are coming up or down the road as there is just no room for two vehicles to pass during the winter with the snow piled on each side. She sent a text saying she was stuck and blocking the road.
So both myself and my other neighbor fired up our tractors and went down to where she was stuck. By this time she had put chains on. I cleared out around her vehicle and my neighbor had done a pass on the road. He has a front plow that does a quick job of clearing the road. She was then able to make the run up to her place. By then I thought since the tractor was warmed up and I was already out, I might as well plow my driveway and parking area. My neighbor had the same thought so were both out late plowing.
Today, I just have shoveling of paths and cleaning up where the vehicles are. But first I need to run out and get some diesel. I have resolved to get a diesel tank in the 150 to 200 gallon range and have it filled when they come to fill my heating oil. I don't want a tank for the bed of my truck as I need the space for hauling. I am tired of making runs for diesel. Actually, heating oil is now diesel. There is no difference according to my supplier. I guess I could always pump some out of my heating oil tank. But it would be nice to have a tank with a hose and directly feed my tractor.
