2021 cutting board for my nephew

not to sure what he plans on cutting on this thing, but it is big. he wants it 36 inches long, 24 or so wide and just under 2 inches thick. using up a lot of long scraps, and then some for this one..,

Big enough at 36x19.375x1.75, and I am throwing in the slightly smaller board (13.25x9.25x1) at no extra charge.

ok, done with the fun today. got the behemoth and junior glued up and clamped today, and they will stay that way for a day or so, letting the glue fully cure. my nephew has seen it, and the little guy, and fully approves. he said that he can use the little guy for cutting veggies, or cheese, or some such. he is paying me with some freshly cut, storm fell black walnut, that he is going to coat in wax, and will bring it up on his next visit to get the behemoth.

Butcher a whole hog on that slab. Bet it doesn't slide around. Nice looking board.

rounded over the edges today, and routed finger holds on the bottom of the board. all that is left, is final sanding and oil.

fixed the finger holds, with a larger bit. juice groove is next...

did the juice groove today. set up a parallel fence of sorts to guide the router bit's bearing. then cut, and gave the whole board it's final sanding. the only thing left, is that my nephew wants his john hancock on the back, in a corner, then oil.
