2021 m&m machines

while the crosses were cooking, i got a bit more done with these. cleaned up all of the parts, as pine can be whiskery, with the trays being the worst. then checked to make sure all were good size wise (the small curved spacer behind the gear was a touch wide, but, with the help of a spindle sander, i can live with it). then started the assembly of the bodies. just have to wait a bit, to finish off the gears, and get them cleaned up, so i can start the finishing process.

got the bodies oiled last night, and the 8 remaining gears. i had to lose another 3 gears to quality issues. got one gear done today, with the set of the other 3 mostly done. all that is left for those, are to pocket out the fall through for the candy, and the profile cuts, and cut the brass rods for the pins.

just got a message from someone on etsy today. i have been asked how they would work with peanut m&m's, but she wanted to know how they would work for mini ones. each turn dispenses about 49 of the lil devils. i may design a smaller one, based on a pint jar.
