I have to cut a lot of wedges out of an 8" block of 4x4. They must be cut from corner to corner, so it's pretty dicey. I made a jig that firmly holds the block in place. It makes it so the only measurement I have to make is cutting the block to 8". Then, all I have to do is drop the block in the jig, secure it with a couple of shims, and cut. It works great!
