Ah, yes! Cooler weather. Highs are still bouncing around 90, but that beats 112-114 any day. Another big rain front moving in this morning. Not sure when it's gonna hit, but I ain't complaining. Need to finish filling up the lakes, rivers, and water tables. Looks like I might be able to get some decent stuff done starting Sunday, according to the forecast. My lathe is sending me vibes that it misses me.

working on my accreditation as a Veterans service officer. It involves taking an online courses and several tests with the end goal to further help veterans understand the various programs available to them. It isa lot of work but the end results. Right now there are no arrcedited american Legion service officer in the state of Arizona. WE have 3 service officer at our post and all three of us are working on becoming accredited. I also have a color guard practice tomorrow. Sundy will be the usual church and working the Bingo in the afternoon .

Mine too... had planned to spend most of this week finishing up a couple of projects for the market tomorrow....ain't gonna happen. I did get to ork a bit on Monday, but the rest of the week Dianne had doctor's appointments on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and today I have to gather the cats to take back to the shelter... they've taken to using the sofa as a litter box and have likely ruined it to the point it will have to be discarded.

Tomorrow will be Farmer's Market without the projects. oh well, maybe next week.

No wait, I have a valve job on my body Tuesday and will be somewhat incapacitated for a few days. No market next week and probably not allowed to work much in the shop... will have to wait and see what the valve mechanic says on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Don I've had VA admin in the shop as customers and lately a couple who brought in a piece saw I am a vewt and realized I have some issues. They were trying to be very helpful with benefit info. Good to see the VA being so pro active.

My wife's sister and her family came up from TX for a few days. I think the 52* morning was a shock for the nephews. My BIL is wanting to learn to drywall, luckily I have a closet to do at the guest house and half the mudding to finish yet, so will put him to work. Other than that, fishing, shooting, and creek exploring with the nephews.

Dave they are getting better. Actually I have been a Service officer for over a year, this is just a way to get me up to speed on the numerous programs available to vets and allow me to further helps vets. The VA system is a very complex system and hard for most people to understand. By becoming fully accredited I will have access to tools I was not allowed to use prior to my accreditaion.

I'm also a VET but in relatively good health, in spite of needing the valve job next week.... I figure that there a lot of other VETs out there that need the VA far more than I do.... we MUST take care of our veterans.

Interviewing a lady that will stay with mom at home 24 hours a day. Mom gets angry when she gets confused. She somehow got signed up to "managed health care" and they gave us 48 hours notice she was to go home. !!!!???? We got her changed back to the regular as she is a resident of the nursing home so didn't have to wait until an open enrollment. Just have to wait until October for the change to happen. Supposed to rain Sunday. Moving hog feed Saturday. Fina and Josh brought their Kubota up for me to use to finish moving bales off of the field. Very nice tractor they bought new last year. My new to me tractor, a 1976 White 2-70 was delivered and have been using it to get to know it. Old Oliver will get backed in the shed for now and need to pull engine and hydro unit to repair the large hydraulic leak. Trying to get organization in the wood shop. Sold the last of our freezer beef thank goodness, before we haul them in to be processed in October. You all have a safe and healthy week ahead.

Chuck, I'll tell you the same thing I tell other vets, don't think that if you don't use the benefits you are entitled to that you are taking away from other vets, that's not true. The more vets who are enrolled in the system the higher the level of funded the VA receives. If you have heart issue than by all mean get ahold of a Veterans service officer and talk to them , Heart issues can very easily be cause to toxic chemicals and if there is a connection to something you were exposed to when you were serving your country then you are entitled to some sort of compensation. Don't wait talk to someone right away not only for your own good but also for your family.

I have had an unusual week. I managed to get a splinter in my foot. It decided that it needed to infect my foot. I had to go to the podiatrist who excised the splinter which released some pus. I now have an open wound in my foot. So now I have to use an antibiotic cream, a collagen patch, an absorbent patch all overwrapped with elastic gauze. My wife is changing this bandage three times a day. She is the best.

Can't do much of anything since I am not supposed to do hardly any walking on the foot. I am too fat, too old and too weak to walk on my hands.

As the wise man once said, "It happens."

Still getting over the cold/flu/whatever that LOML and I have been sharing for the past two weeks, but it looks like we're about to the end of it. The lawn is about ankle deep because I've not had the energy to deal with it. We had a bunch of rain the past couple of days so now I need to wait for it to dry out a bit before I mow it.

Tonight we're going to a 40th wedding anniversary party for some good friends, They'll have a couple of bands there, and I'll be sitting in with one of them to play Comfortably Numb. That song (and me playing it) has special meaning to these friends because that was the first song they danced to the night they met, and my band was playing it that night. It's become my signature song these days...I'm kind of known as the Comfortably Numb guy, lol.

I'll be spending time this weekend finishing the setup of a new computer. My laptop died a horrible death this past week, so I bit the bullet and bought a new mini PC. It's a non-name Chinse special from Amazon with good components and specs, and so far I'm very impressed with the performance for the price. I've got a good start on getting everything installed that I need (Office 365 and the Adobe photo suite) but still need to set up Outlook and get other needed apps installed this weekend.

And I'll be recording and watching the F1 Singapore Grand Prix as time permits this weekend. We'll see if Max Verstappen can continue his record-breaking winning streak. :thumb:

Weather is beautiful. Mowing and then trying to trap some of critters that are eating my fall garden’s newly emerging tender shoots. 😡 Planting replacement radishes and squash. Harvesting some more of those asian winged beans, which tasted pretty darn good sautéed with garlic on the Blackstone tonight. Think I’ll try my hand at schnitzel tomorrow and then pull a chuck roast out of the freezer for some experimental InstantPot burnt ends. Some shop time is possible ‘cause I need to come up with a way to store and easily access sheet pans.

Hurricane coming. Lee is forecast to come ashore later this afternoon in southwest Nova Scotia with winds gusting to 120km/hr and heavy rain. We’ve been working all week getting as much fruit harvested as possible, as well as doubling up the nursery tree tying and battening down the buildings. The storm will likely track just to the west of us and up the Bay of Fundy, which puts us on the windy side. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best.
