my cousin is the owner of a cabinet making shop, and he asked me a while ago if i could make something for him. he is making the cabinetry for a new coffee shop, and asked if i could make 3 vent grates for him. we sat down with the architect's plans, and figured out a rough size for a test run. good thing we did, as there were a few changes in the software to be made. still used a pocket toolpath, changing from a climb, to conventional, and that got rid of the ghosts. then, after checking the site, we worked out the size of the blanks needed, and before i did any cutting, checked his cutting, and found that he was 1/16 inch more than he though. recalculated for the increased size, and commenced to cutting. i made sure that i was using a new part of the spoil board, as the good side would be down, and any tear out would be on the not so good side. running at 40 ipm, with a 1/8 inch bit, and 8 passes, it took almost exactly 2.5 hours each. not looking to break any land speed records, but got all 3 done last night.
