Looks awesome. Bummer on the scratches for sure. Maybe then can be buffed out??
They are a little too deep for just buffing. I have had some luck with gently sanding the scratches with some 1000 or 2000 grit and then taking a drop of mission brown dye straight from the bottle and rubbing it over the scratch. Then follow with a light rubbing with a bit of walnut stain (basically the formula used for the original finish). Finally, a light coat of wipe on varnish. This has worked in the past and I'l try it here in a week or so.

Scratches notwithstanding, that's an awesome piece of work, Rennie. Your coloring process is spot on. You are indeed the QSWO King. :clap:

Next project for this customer is another over-mantel for the main living room. This one will be a similar design but is about 50% larger. Will do this sometime in the fall.
