A client that I have done other work for asked me to make an A&C style frame for a tile he had purchased.
Sure, said I, no problem. He wants it unfinished so I thought it would be a perfect one day build.
I dug around and found a hunk of 8/4 QSWO left over from another project. I first cut it in half.
Then took it over to the band saw and sliced it.
After a few short trip through the planer I had 2 pair of book-matched sides.
I set up the table saw for the rabbets than will support the tile and hold the recessed back. First came the 1/8" deep cut 1/8" from the face. This will hold the tile in place.
Next came a series of cuts to provide a recess for the back and an area to accept the screws that hold the back in place.
