A buddy that I do a lot of work with has a friend who owns a nice new Ferrari.
He lives outside of Tokyo in a regular house in a medium-sized town, but he owns a defunked resort way out in the countryside (long story,
I'm not going into it.
Near the summer house on this property is a long covered walkway that he wants the end near his house converted into a garage for his Ferrari.

This is the end of the covered walkway where we will build the garage.

It is very long, we are only using this end

Whoever built this, built it to last!

This is the basic idea: build some walls and a couple of barn doors

We built the walls on the ground with the air framing nailer and then stood the walls up

The diagonal board is temporary.

Mike and I stayed on site while Ola went home, as he lived not far away.
We stayed in cabins, and that night Mike and I had steak and beers on the grill.

Nothing like a good steak after a long days work

Not bad for a jobsite meal!

To keep the water out of the garage, we had this custom flashing bent.
One of my buddies working with me on the job, Ola, who lives not far from here, had a tin bender, as he has been restoring an old Japanese farmhouse, and found a good deal on a used tin brake.

More tin going on

We ended up buying tin that we cut some of the sheets of tin in half to make short pieces.
We could not get the correct length in the colour the client wanted in the time frame we had, but this worked out.

I think that is looking good!

Just the doors to build and this end to finish up

All done

I got the largest barn door hinges I could get, but I still put a steel cable with a turnbuckle on it on each door, so when the door droops a bit, the client can twist the turnbuckle and take out the droop.
All in all it was a good job, the client was pleased, and I think we made something that should last.
