Another "What kind of wood" question

Anyone want to hazard a guess on this? I'm thinking ash, but having never worked with it I can't be sure. Ignore the red arrow - I'm interested in the case and doors.

It definitely looks like ash to me as well with that grain pattern.

As this is a rather contemporary (time wise) piece I don't think chestnut would be likely, though I can see the similarity. I'm still leaning towards ash. Thanks to all for the guidance!

Looks like something tropical to me.
I use a lot of Iroko and it has all of those grain patterns at different times. I agree that the botom rail looks like ash but not much else does. Iroko has that "cathedral" grain pattern at times as do other tropicals. If I was forced to guess I'd go Sapele.

sapele would get the sides easily rennie. and the fact it could have come from across the pond it puts more credence to it.

Well, fortunately the customer is wanting the "look", not the exact wood. so any of these suggestions would probably fit the bill.
