I've had this original art organizer for nearly 40 years, bought it when I was in HS.

I decided I wanted to take some time this week to learn Fusion 360 and needed a project to plug around on. This was a challenge, but was able to mostly re-create it, other than the hinge, which I did of my own design.

I'll be making some changes to it for more modern use and may be putting them up on Etsy to see how they do.

I've worked on a couple of iterations of this and printed a couple. I still have some changes to make, but all the pieces fit right together and it's a clean looking piece. I've added a rugged box latch, rather than a magnet for the catch, which is working quite well.

I cannibalized some pencil sharpeners from some I purchased from Dollar Tree, from their original cases, and glued them into my own.

Been trying different pencil sharpeners out for these. I like the quality and sturdiness of the metal ones, so I redesigned the lid with a pocket for them to nap into. It took a couple of tries, but they snap in and hold without any play.

Now what do do with the ones that weren’t up to snuff…

Actually I’ll be returning the box of 300. ;) I’ll use the others around the shop.

I’ve been trying to print a couple of boxes a day in different colors to start working on some photos and write up the listings.

Whoa ... *very* impressive work, Darren.

I recently bought the smaller block planes from Jorgensen/Pony and was wishing I had "mad" CAD skills like yours, so I could print form-fitting "cradles" for them. (To copy/replace the thin, clear plastic ones they are packed in, which are too flimsy for long-term storage/display.)

I have no idea how to even *start* approaching such a design task, so seeing what you've done is dazzling to me. Great job!
