I have run without the lower cabinet bottom collection point on my larger bandsaw for years. I do this by collecting right under the table and then again just below the guides inside the lower cabinet. I have recently expanded a lot of my 4" collection points to 6" and the increase in collection is very noticeable. This led me to test replacing the 2-1/2" under-the-table collection point with a 4". The improvement was again very noticeable so here I go.
Like the 2-1/2" version the shroud is thin ply with magnets to secure it.
.
This saw will be connected to the new drop I posted a thread on here. A 6x4x4 splits the path close to the source.
I figured out on the other G0513 that I could replace this screw . . .
With a bit of redneck engineering (even though it's metric) I place this assembly in the screw's old location.
A piece of copper wire is captured between the washers and secures the 6" end of the wye in a way that allows it to pivot if I move the saw in or out to clear larger work.
And there we go.
.
Now I guess I will have to do the other saw as soon as I get a chance ;-)
