Wife want a barn quilt for the garage. I want to use somethin that stands up to the weather and will hold latex paint. I'm seeing poly/metal panels but not sure how the latex will adhere. Quilt will be around 48"x48". Looking for options, any advice.

I'd think the poly would hold fine, not sure about the metal with latex, will probably just depend on the primers and prep done. Of course weather is always a factor too. I'll be interested to know what you decide, I know my wife is wanting to do one here as well.

:lurk:

Wife is wanting to use plywood, I'm really trying to discourage her from that.
Maybe somerhing like this PVC panel? Although I'm not sure the description is accurate. Seems cheap for the size.
Not sure about how it would hold paint.
Closest Lowes is 90 miles away, Big orange is 120 and M (n)is 70. I don't do these unless absolutely necessary.

Medium Density Overlay (MDO). It's used by many states/counties, etc. for road signs. Comes in 4X8 sheets. Has a coating that takes and holds paint well, and its very weather resistant.

If you have to have it shipped the Aluminum Composite Sign Panel stuff might end up cheaper in the end due to freight. It's also super light so putting it up is pretty easy.
