Bauer buying frenzy

I stopped by HF tonight on the way home. I was over there the other day and saw they had a leaf blower in the Bauer line of tools. I also only brought a 12v drill/driver set with me and it's not been keeping up with my projects/repairs on the house.

They have a set that comes with several of the tools including the leaf blower, but I really didn't need all of the tools in that set. It also only came with 3ah and 1.5ah batteries and a single charger. I instead bought a separate drill and separate impact driver, which each came with the 2 ah battery and charger. I bought the blower separately, which came with a 5ah battery and charger. I bought a orbital sander (tool only), a floor vacuum (tool only), and an additional 2ah battery. I'll be interested to see how all of them do. Cost wise I spent about the same, got larger batteries, and more chargers.

I don't like the wall wart plug on the chargers, it's not practical for outlets or power strips, but do like the fact they made the chargers wall mountable. Not being wall mountable is a frustration I've had with my Metabo/Hitachi chargers. Luckily I have a 3d printer to fix that, but seems like an obvious improvement that they should have done.

I may go back and get the weed trimmer as the yard isn't that big here...and the chainsaw could make it into my cart as well.
 
I'll probably go back and buy the Yard String Trimmer, Chain Saw, Tire inflator, and the Glue gun. Most likely will pickup another 5 ah battery to share between the blower, trimmer, and chain saw.

There is an older 2 cycle trimmer here, but not tried to get it going. I still need to get my stihl chain saw I brought with me running again also, being able to throw a battery in and just have those go is worth the price of admission.

My MIL did a lot of floral design and there are lots and lots of supplies still downstairs, so the glue gun will come in handy for my wife doing that.

I have a Ryobi version of the tire inflator and it has come in handy over the past few years to grab and top off tires. Seems like my daughter's cars always have a low tires when they come over. I've bought them a compressor and a tire chuck and gauge in the past, but either the gauge or chuck always seem be misplaced and every air station between here and there always seems to be out of order. ;)
 
Nice haul! :thumb: I have that leaf blower as well as their smaller blower (for my wife). I also have the chainsaw. It's kinda meager compared to my Stihl, but sure is a lot easier to use. In my use so far, the 5 ah batteries last longer than I do...I've never run one dry unless I was doing it intentionally by using it over the course of a few months. Another Bauer tool that's impressed me is their hedge trimmer. It cuts way better than my old corded B&D Brush Hog and it lighter to boot. My only complaint about the Bauer and Hercules tools is that every time I go to HF, I'm trying to justify to myself why I should buy another new tool, lol. For example, I'd really like an electric ratchet. I have next to no need for one, but I think they're cool. 🤣

The Bauer and Hercules cordless tools are great bang for the buck. I'd say the Bauer line is aimed at the Ryobi-level market, and the Hercules line is pretty comparable with Milwaukee.

Their Pittsburgh mechanic's tools are well built and have a lifetime warranty like Craftsman used to have. The Quinn tools are pro-level on a budget, and the Icon stuff can go toe to toe with Snap-on at a much lower price.
